Lee Williams Obituary

Lee Campbell Williams, age 74, Jewell, KS resident, passed away on July 21, 2022. He was born on Nov 4, 1947 in the Burrough of Buffalo, town of Flushing, New York.

Lee spent most of his growing up years in Park Ridge, New Jersey, close to New York city where his father worked. Right out of high school Lee enlisted in the Air Force for four years, working heavy equipment in Viet Nam and the military base in Spain. After marrying his first wife in Spain, he came back to New Jersey where he was a licensed journeyman electrician.

Moving to Boulder, Colorado with his wife, Maria and young son David, Lee continued working as an electrician at various places in Colorado. After a divorce, he started working in Steamboat Springs CO where he met Jacque Wheeler, his future wife and they had two boys, Bret and Jesse.

After spending a year in Ringwood, New Jersey in a landscaping business, Lee and Jacque decided the city life wasn’t for them and came to Jewell to raise their children and be close to Jacque’s parents, Marjorie and Orell Wheeler.

Although Lee did other kinds of jobs over the years, his favorite job was being with the children as school custodian and bus driver in Jewell and Mankato Kansas.

After a couple of shoulder injuries and beginning to suffer from the effects of Agent Orange he got from Viet Nam, Lee retired early, enjoyed his time mowing lawns and spending time with his grandsons.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Myrta (Ingalsbe) Williams and Laurence Lovering Williams, Jr, and a brother, Allan Williams. He is survived by a sister, Lynn Ware, brother, Scott Williams, his wife Jacque, three sons David Williams-Escosa, Bret Williams, Jesse Williams and grandchildren, Max and Rylee Escosa, Raphael and Kolter Williams.

Looking forward to being at home with his Savior in heaven, Lee died at peace.
